The problem
Spyra is a digital makeup drawer. People save the beauty products they use, review them and share them with followers. The friction was adding products: typing brand, name and details for every item. And a social app only works if people keep coming back.
What I built
- AI product scanning. Photograph a product and the app identifies it and fills in the details.
- Receipt scanning. Photograph a receipt and add several products at once.
- AI art generated from a user’s product collection, made to be shared.
- The social layer: feed, follows, likes, comments, reviews and ratings, friends’ activity, chat and push notifications.
- Pageant and celebrity profiles with verified crown badges, plus giveaways.
- Brand reports for companies that want to understand who uses their products.
How I approached it
Remove the typing.
Scanning a product or a receipt turns a minute of form-filling into a photo. That’s what gets drawers filled, and a full drawer is what makes the social feed worth visiting.
New features without disrupting a live app.
Spyra was already live when this work started, so features shipped in steps alongside everything existing users relied on.
